Why do I have colored lines running down my laptop screen

My laptop was completely fine then one day when I opened it up it had a few colored lines on my screen with one black spot then eventually it fell (on carpet) and when I picked it up half the screen was covered in lines and 2 more completely black spots. All the remedies I tried just made it worse what should I do?
