No response when plugging in charger cable despite new battery.

I have an iPad Mini 2 that I've been troubleshooting and I'm afraid I have a bad dock connector. Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot the connector?

It was having problems charging (wouldn't charge past 2-3% one day) and wouldn't stay on for more than maybe 30 seconds. I put in a new battery and everything looked good. But it won't respond at all when I plug in a cable (I tried several). No wake, no noise, no lightning bolt, and it isn't recognized when plugged into my Macbook. But it wakes fine by home button and seems to be working normally in every way except for slowly losing power.

It's starting to seem like a bad dock connector or something on the logic board but I'm hoping someone has other insights or suggestions since I'm not sure I'm ready to throw my hands up and send it to a tech just yet. Thanks!

Seems worth noting that this is a used ipad with an aftermarket charger/cable. I'm not sure if the charger/cable could have anything to do with the problem. Everything inside the connector looks normal so far as I can tell. Everything inside the case also looks clean and original with no obvious damage.

If it's slowly losing power that sounds pretty normal. If you're using an aftermarket charger, you should stop. Only bad things will come from this. It does sound like what you're getting at is that you need a new Lightning dock
