Base OS: OS-X 10.6.6) Snow Leopard {10J3210} From EveryMac: This system fully supports the last version of OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" as well as OS X 10.9 "Mavericks" with the exception of the "Power Nap" feature. It also supports the last version of OS X 10.10 "Yosemite" and current version of OS X 10.11 "El Capitan" -- including Mac-to-Mac AirDrop and AirPlay Mirroring capability -- but other advanced features are not supported.

Can you describe the beeps (number and if they have a pattern). Also what drive did you put in make & model.

by

I had put a Toshiba Disk drive MQ01ABF032, 320 GB 5400 RPM 2.5" and the beeps are 1 sec apart.

When I insert the disc Snow Leopard I get a series of three beeps. How do I get the disc to start loading. It is a new hard drive that I have installed.

Do a web install. With a new hard drive you can connect to the web (I prefer a hard wired connection for this but Wi_Fi will work. You should be able to just boot it up and after it can't find a system if will ask for your router password. Disk Utilities will down load. Format the drive and then do a system restore. The original system will install then you can set it up and do your upgrades via the APP Store.

UPDATE 11/26/15

The tree beeps are a RAM error. Try resetting g then RAM, one at a time in each slot to test both the `RAM and the slots. Have you changed it?
