Why is my speaker sound distorted?

Whenever I turn on my Bose SoundDock XT, the sound emitted is very distorted. Increasing the volume does not help to clear up the sound. What do I do to check out the speakers?

Options

It is possible that you have a faulty speaker or even an audio driver on the motherboard that has gone bad.
