Video Problem - iMac 20" Intel - (Early 2009) - EMC 2266

iMac 20" Intel - (Early 2009) - EMC 2266 - A1224

I'd appreciate it, if anyone can offer a diagnosis. iMac startup screen fades from white, to a streaky, dirty grey with a partial border, going dark (top to bottom) over about a minute. Boots with normal chimes. External display verifies normal operation. I believe the video is integrated with the logic board. Problem started intermittently. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Replaced the inverter, but same problem. Also, LED #1, #2 and #4 are ON. Thanks again for your suggestion.
