iPhone 5 Not charging, changed battery and charging port still not.

Hi,

i've tried to change battery as my previous onces gone 0% was not turning on... (not charging) then i changed and new battery had 62% but still didn't charging... so now i've tried to change port but still same problem not charging!

i've noticed that when battery is dead (0%) and i plug cable, it continusly show icons which tell to charge, when i unplug no icons till i press power button... what could be the problem? u2 chip?

Sorry for bad english ( i'm Italian)

Yes, this sounds like a defective U2 chip. Try to find someone locally to do this for you. If you can't find anyone, feel free to contact us (we're in the USA) and we can do this for you.

madaraus you may have problems with the USB IC protector or the charging IC. Take a look at those components. To repair them you would have to reflow the BGA IC or even replace it with a reball. If you have not done that, you may want to leave it for a professional to do.

@oldturkey03 , have you had much successes reflowing this? My understanding is that you pretty much need to replace it as it is usually caused by a damaged U2 chip instead of just cracked solder joints. Let me know what you think.

Done a few and had mixed results. Replacement is a pain. It is almost easier to just apply jumpers instead. I do not recommend this for a first time DIY attempt
