Retail display used in a repair, what can be done?

Hi, my Girlfriend dropped her phone, and that resulted in a cracked screen. The next day she took it to our local Street phone repair shop. After two days she got it back and checked the basic things, and thought everything was okay until I had a check on it. First thing was that the stylus stopped working (I does on mine, exact same model) but even worse than is that I have noticed a burned red text on the bottom of the screen that doesn't go away. It's the exact text from the Samsung retail app about that the product design may vary etc. God knows how long it was on for and the *******s took £125 for it!

The trouble is she never got a receipt for it...

Is there any thing that we can do about it? Maybe police? Regards!

The Note 4 has a separate digitizer for the stylus and that's why it's not working. The repair shop either damaged it or forgot to install that part when they replaced the screen. The "burned out text" is probably a sticker/plastic protector on the backside of the screen that they forgot to remove. You should definitely go back and point out these 2 issues to them and have them address them.

I agree with Jim. Also, there has to be documentation of the transaction somewhere. If you paid by card of course you can utilize your bank or cc statement as proof. If you paid cash, there has to be a record at the store. After all, each part and service has to be accounted for. The best thing to do in the future is to test these features out right there in the store in front of the staff so there is no room for excuses. Sometimes techies tend to get high on their brains and think that the customer is wrong due to their lack of tech expertise. I am a local tech/owner of a repair shop myself so I am not judging. Hope it all works out for you.
