Power to screen / menu / back button cutting in and out

After doing a successful screen assembly replacement my phones screen cuts out now and then. The problem is intermittent. Sometimes it goes pink and the touch screen stops working and sometimes the menu and back buttons stop lighting up as well.

It seems like a lose connection but where to look?

I was so excited I had fixed it and now frustrated.

Thankyou Buddhika. I checked the FPC contacts, this is not the problem.

First failure: I left the phone out in the rain. After this I submerged it in alcohol and dried it out. It worked fine after this but then the screen failed after turning pink a couple of times.

Then I replaced the screen assembly: again the phone worked fine except sometimes turning pink with black lines and then going black. Then it would start working again.

Now the screen is black and I can't get the screen to turn on again.

This time the menu and back button lights are not working either but I can still answer calls by swiping the black touch screen in the right place. The first time the screen died the menu and back button lights still worked.

Is there something the water might have damaged on the motherboard that is causing my phone to kill screens? I do not want to do another screen assembly replacement only to have this happen again.

Karismac,

it seems to be your Display back-light and Digitizer getting malfunction, could be loose connection or back-light driver & Digitazer controller related fault. most of the cases like this come after liquid damage.

Check and reconnect FPC contacts and let us know if the problem no solved. we will help you to troubleshoot the fault.

Thankyou. I noticed the clip next to the main LCD clip may not have been fully connected. It is the only one I didn't undo when I did the screen assembly replacement. Hopefully you were correct the first time and clicking that in fully fixes the phone.

As it has been intermittent I will wait a day before I mark this solved. Otherwise I guess I will buy a new motherboard.

Thanks for your help I appreciate it immensely!
