I am replacing the digitizer/lcd and have lost the small resistor that solders to the bottom in my iPad Air 2 A1567. need help.

Update (11/04/2015)

Attached is the pictures. the first shows the new digitizer without the resistor. The second on the top is without resistor and the bottom is with resistor from a repair video. I also need to know if this ipad should work without this resistor. After putting this back together it will not power on at all. I checked the battery and it is fully charged. I tried all the reset procedures on the web but nothing works. Thanks for any help.

Post an image of your logic board and mark the area where the component is missing. There is no way to identify it by your description alone

Pictures aren't clear enough, I'm not sure what you're describing. Tell us more about the history of the device and problem.

That is the port for one of the hall effect sensors to detect the smart cover.

by

will the unit work without the sensor.

by

Yes, however you lose smart cover auto lock. And also I recommend taping the contact pads over to prevent shorting/

Thanks so there is something else wrong since it will not come on at all, (sigh) my customer is going to be very upset but I am at a loss as what else to do.
