itunes won't read my iPod.

My computer reads it as a portable device, but itunes will not read it. Also, my ipod says that there are 0 bytes left for storage, yet it says there is no music, photos, or anything. It's filled with 'other'. What do I do?

First of all, here´s a manual how to open and how to remove the hard drive.

the needed tools can be found here.

And last but not least, you will need a 1.8"h ZIF to USB adapter.

What have you done to get the iPod to sync? I still suspect the hard drive being damaged.

Hi,

you should first try to restore the iPod. If that doesn`t help, tell us and we will help you from there.

it wont restore. when i reset it, thats when the ipod said memory full yet no music ect was on there. when i try to go to My Computer and click on the ipod pic the computer freezes. what do i do now?

Sounds to me like an issue with the hard drive or its cable. If you are willing to try, open the iPod and use an adapter to access the drive directly via USB. If the drive can be accessed normal this way, i would tend to a damaged hard drive cable otherwise its the hard drive itself.
