won't respond or restart

I have had it charging, but it still won't restart with menu & center buttons pushed,

To reset your iPod:

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

tammyturner check your charger as well as the cable. Make sure that they are in good working condition. You want to check your dock connector to make sure there are no bend broken pins or that there is any debris that prevents your cable from making proper contact. clean it with some isoproypl alcohol and a few puffs of compressed air. If all that is okay, you do want to replace the battery and check the battery connector. It has a tendency on this model to break off.
