iPhone 5c water damage error 21

I tried using rubbing alcohol (1st time) and that didn't have any luck, tried a known good battery and charging port (genuine parts) from another phone and still getting error 21.

My itunes is fine, tried dfu and recovery mode.

Ideas?

I realize it could be dead.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

An interesting note, I think the iOS did update as I was restoring, the itunes logo now looks different so I think it did update, but just can't finish.

Don't use rubbing alcohol! use isopropyl alcohol 99.9% to clean your iPhone board can you submit a picture of the water damage?

The Red indicator is water damage so remove the black adhesive to expose the water damage [image|685796] then see if you see any corrosion on the board and clean it with ISO 99% and give a restore a try again.

Doesn't look like anything is wrong, haven't used the isopropyl yet. Not experienced in repairing water damage, are they repairable most of the time after the isopropyl?

It looks ok but I will dump it in isopropyl anyways. Does that work pretty well for you when it comes to water damage?
