Can I reattach a severed Home button FLEX CABLE?

I inadvertently broke the flex cable of my home button while lifting up the screen.

I read that a replacement home button will NOT allow me to use Touch ID anymore.

Is it possible to repair, maybe solder the flex cable that I broke?

It is impossible sadly. They are directly correlated with the logic board for security reasons and if you break one you're out of luck. You could try and find a new logic board with a home button but that might be costly.

It is possible, I've seen people do it.

Got the exact same problem, two different answers...

@Rocket Repair: so basically the cable itself is linked with the logic board and not the Touch ID sensor? That means hypothetically you could change the home button if you keep the original cable?

If it's just a broken flex cable then with a lot of patience they can be bridged with fine wire. It was done on a camcorder so maybe similar, see this video
