The LG G4 was released in the US in early June 2015, as always focusing on high-end specifications and a refined fashion sense that makes it stand out in the premium smartphone market. Each version of the phone will have a different model number based on if it is sold by a carrier or unlocked (US or International). Some LG G4's are known to have bootloop problems.

New screen keeps shutting of after diy screen replacement.

I bought and replaced the digitizer, lcd and plastic frame on a friend phone and now the screen keeps shutting off within a second of turning on unless it's pointed at a light source. Any ideas?

I had almost the same problem. I had forgotten to transfer a small rubber piece (wrapping the front proximity sensor, between upper speaker and front camera) from the old frame to the new one. So the proximity sensor was not working at all (you can check that using mini OS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPKL1U94...) and caused weird behavior on screen locking.

After having transfered this small piece, everything works fine.

When working on this Phone one thing to remember when installing the new Screen is the metal mesh that covers some circuits on the flex cables. when the mesh is not there it causes the circuits to short when they touch the motherboard that goes over them. Also could be a damaged flex cable, the cables on the LG G4, G3 and G2 are very thin and hard to place in just the right spot on the frame.
