After upgrading from a 128gb SSD drive to 512gb, next steps?

I am about to undertake upgrading my Late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro's storage from 128gb to 512gb. What are the steps I need to take in order to get up and running on the new hard drive? I have already backed up my machine fully to an external drive in a Time Machine format. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you have the correct SSD?

Yes, I made sure of that. Same drive just larger capacity.

Setup a USB thumb drive as a bootable drive. Then copy over to it the OS installer. Use this drive to boot up your system with the new SSD installed so you can prep up the new SSD.

You may want to get a case to hold your old SSD so you can use it as an external drive.
