Should I replace my dryer control board?

We had a power outage at our house and my dryer (Maytag Bravos Dryer MEDB850WQ0) stopped working. The power tripped for a second or two and I noticed my dryer beeping. It was showing fault code F:73. I cleared the code and attempted to start the dryer. Power comes on to the panel, I can rotate the knob to any selection, all lights come on except the amount of time per selection. I can add time, but the default amount does not show. When I press start, it beeps, but nothing happens. I have checked 240V at the outlet and continuity with the thermal fuses. Everything checks OK.

The Maytag Tech Sheet recommends for fault codes F:72-F:78 to replace the console electronics. I believe this includes both the control board and control panel. Should I replace both, attempt replacement of just one (which one), or should I check something else first?

I ended up purchasing both. I replaced the control panel first because the time did not automatically display when the power was turned on even though I could add time and that time did display. The new panel fixed the problem and I returned the control board. Although this issue was odd, I hope this helps someone.

First unplug the machine for 5 minutes to allow it to reset, let us know if this removes your problem. Next press the cancel button.
