I have an internal cable that I cannot identify or place .

Got pulled away from a repair that I haven't done before and someone knocked everything off the bench. I have everything back in order and ready to install but cannot find reference to this 821-1743-A ribbon connector anywhere. I was replacing the charging port so the phone was pretty well disassembled. The cable is about an inch long and has a screw eye on each end. It looks like it was attached to something and had a 45 degree bend in about the middle. I have included a dropbox link with a couple of photos.

This does not go in the top left... it goes in the bottom left and secures the headphone jack by wrapping around it.

iPhone 5 Lightning Connector and Headphone Jack Replacement

Refer to step 31, yellow and red screws.

Perfect! Thanks very much for the answer David. Step 35 on the guide is probably the best picture for this. If you look really close, you can see the cable attached to the left side of the headphone jack (for anyone else who might be trying to find it). It appears to be yet another piece that needs to be transferred from the old assembly to the new one before replacement. The guide is fantastic except for this area.

Thanks again for the great information!

Oh, yeah. It goes on the top left. There are two screws that go into those holes. It wraps around the corner on the top left

Top left meaning the corner by the vibration motor? I cannot find two screw positions that line up properly for it. Does it get installed after the motherboard? Sorry for the questions - I usually don't have issues like this. Frustrating!!!

Thanks again.

Thank you for clarifying your first answer, it makes perfect sense after you added the second comment but why would you post this response? I don't understand what upset you. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to provide an answer and assist those of us who are less experienced than you. Have a fantastic day!
