There are several reasons why the screen of the Genesis 2 may be unresponsive.

A dirty screen can block the infrared LED lights used to help the touchscreen function properly. Using a soft cloth and an electronic screen cleaner, clean the tablet’s screen to ensure there is no grime or debris blocking the sensors.

A screen protector that is worn, too thick, or not made for the device could interfere with the infrared LED lights used to help the touchscreen function properly. Either replace the protector with a new one designed for the Genesis 2 tablet or remove the protector completely.

A low battery can cause the tablet’s touchscreen or operating system to become unresponsive. The Genesis 2 tablet uses a micro USB charger, which is universal for many different devices. Simply plug the device in for a few hours to provide it with enough battery to properly function again.

Sometimes a device may just need a restart to resume functioning properly. Simply hold down the lock button on the top of the device for about 8 seconds to restart the Genesis 2.

A broken or cracked screen can interfere with the color of the graphics and functioning of the touchscreen. If this is the case, the screen may need to be replaced.

Try restarting your tablet. Sometimes touchscreens will not work because the device itself is frozen and a restart can fix the problem. If this does not work, there may be a loose connection with the ribbon cable that connects the touch screen to the circuit board. To fix this, carefully open the device to reveal the circuit board and re-attach the cable to the port.
