optical drive replacement issues.

I replaced my optical drive. Which was a philips dg-6m1s-01b with a philips dg -6m1s. The new drive is still having the same unable to read disc errors. Help please.

Hey Paul...I'm assuming that you swapped the green board from the original optical drive over to the new one when you replaced it, but if not then that needs to be done first.

If that was done then you need to be sure that everything is plugged in correctly and that your console is fully updated. If all of that's been done then you may have a problem with the motherboard or software somewhere.

Hi,

Have you swapped over the control board from your old drive to the new drive. The reason for this is that there is a digital key in the old board which associates your drive with your Xbox motherboard.
