Finder freeze after install dual hardrive

I have a SanDisk x300 SSD 128 GB as the prime SATA drive and a 1 TB HDD mounted in the optical drives location.

I notice when ever I launch files or anything from the finder in the optical drive HD, my finder freeze or it take long time to load files.

I did some research saying might be the firmware of my SSD but what ever I load from SSD works great.

I suspect that the optical port ATA cant support up to 1tb?

I'm using MACOSX Lion with 6gb ram.

Hope some one can help me to tweak this! thanks!

From what you are describing your HD is in trouble not your SSD.

So lets step back a monument and review the SATA ports in this system: The primary HD SATA port (1.5 Gb/s) has crash guard technology built-in to protect the HD from damage Mac notebooks: Hard drives and noise when the system gets a bang. The secondary PATA optical drive port (133 Mb/s) does not have this service.

At this point your drive may only need to be reformatted but you'll need to try to save your data if you can first.

I think you'll need to rethink your storage. I would leave the SSD in the system and then use a FireWire connected external drive. Or go with a SSHD hybrid drive like Seagate's. In both of these configs the optical drive port is not used with either a HD or SSD. Lastly, locate a HD drive with crash guard technology built-in. I suspect the your current drive doesn't have it.
