Swap broken iPad screen with unbroken screen from non-functional iPad?

I have an iPad 2 with shattered glass - other than the broken glass, it works fine. I have another iPad 2 with perfect glass but it doesn't work at all (confirmed dead at Apple Store).

Is it possible to remove the unbroken glass from the non-functioning iPad and use it to replace the shattered glass on the other iPad?

I see glass replacement kits available, but since I already have an iPad with good glass, I am wondering if I can just use that instead of buying a complete replacement kit.

Thanks!

Matt

Ok, i love this stuf... I have 4 kids an i know this field well. First know this repair will void any warenty. To start fully charg broken screen. Power off. Remove batery door. Remove batery. Remove any cards I.E. sd, ect. Remove all screws. Pry rear fraim from front fraim. Note; front fraim is all so screen. Unclip any conections on board. Remove board. Set all parts aside. Toss the screen in the trash. Repeat all steps for unbroken screen save for tossing the screen in the trash. Now using unbroken screen compleat all steps in reverse save for trashing your screen. Your device should be next to new. Enjoy
