New Dell E2414Hr monitor won't work with Late 2009 Mac Mini

New Dell E2414Hr won't recognize Mac Mini or iMac, although iMac sees the monitor.

Tried both video ports on Mac Mini.

-- mDVI-DVI adapter & DVI-DVI cable to Dell monitor

-- mini DisplayPort-HDMI adapter & HDMI-HDMI cable to Samsung TV

(Same cabling worked with Samsung TV connected to a different iMac.)

Not sure if problem is with Dell Monitor or Mac Mini or both. Dell monitor in new, received today from Amazon. Mac Mini is used but was tested and fresh OSX installed before we received it.

Suggestions would be welcome.

Update (11/01/2015)

Never mind. The Dell monitor is fine, based on it working with an iMac 9,1 under both OSX 10.6 and 10.9 with a miniDisplayPort to DVI adapter.

Mac Mini's video output circuit appear to be malfunctioning. Will be scavenging mini's optical drive, hard drive and RAM for other computers.
