Replaced the cracked screen and now the screen is black

Replaced a crack screen, the computer powers on, it works with a monitor did the 60 sec three times and reloaded windows on the pc, version 8.1 for a system restore and still no luck. Should I have purchased a inverter board? The PC just cracked while I was sitting there watching tv and next thing you know there it was? I turned it off without the battery and did the 60 sec with no power on the power button.

I know this sounds simple, but double check all your connections. You might try powering it up before closing back up, just to be sure.
