Not starting up - 3 beeps on startup

I have a MacBook Air 13-inch, Mid 2011 (1,8 GHz Intel Core i7, Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3).

The computer is not starting up anymore. When I try to power it up, it beeps three times continuously, takes a short break, and then starts beeping again:

beep beep beep (short break) beep beep beep (short break).... and so on, repeatedly.

What could be wrong with my computer? Is there a way I could repair it on my own?

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Hugo

You have a RAM issue. First try reseating your sticks. That failing, try one at a time in each slot to test both the RAM and the slots. Both are known to fail.

Thanks for the answer, Mayer. Nevertheless, given that we are talking about a MacBook Air, shouldn't I expect the ram sticks to be soldered to the logic board?
