Are new battery pull tabs necessary when reassembling?

I have to replace my iPhone 6 plus battery, and I want to know if I have to install new battery pull tabs when reassembling after the replacement procedure. If I have to, what happens if I don't?

It is recommended since the battery can move about if not firmly attached.
