Why am I getting backlight but no video?

When I turn the system on I hear the chime but no display. I've reset the cable but still the same issue. Sometimes when I close it down the backlight would stay on because the apple logo is still lighting. On other occasions the backlight would come off and on when I open and close. What is the possible cause of this problem as well as the possible solution?

At this point you need to try connecting an external display to see if the logic board or the internal display is bad. Do you see an image on the external? If you don't the logic board has problems.

I was thinking about that but I honestly don't have connections to see it on an external display. I'll just have to buy today and see. Thanks Dan, I'll try and I'll tell you what happens

I got a mini display to hdmi adapter but the same thing why I'm baffled by this is cause I'm getting the chime like its coming on. When I hook it up it just said no signal. What could have possibly caused that?

Not good ;-{ Sounds like the logic board has an issue with the video services.

This model has an intergraded GPU within the CPU unit. At this point it looks like you need a new logic board.
