Does opening the iMac void the warranty

Does opening the 5K iMac to modify drive capacity, etc. void the warranty?

Since the screen has to be cut into to get it off, I would say yes unless done by an ASP or Apple store. The only thing that it considered user upgradable on this model is the RAM. I could be wrong but I wouldn't bet my warranty on it.

It does not. If Apple can prove that when you opened up the case something got broke and you were the cause of it then yes . There is a reason computers have ram slots. To be able to add ram.

Kevin, this machine does not need to be opened to upgrade the RAM, the RAM slots are on the back.
