power, not booting up, wireless keyboard no responding

yesterday i woke my Imac up from sleep and there was black and white vertical lines on the screen, couldn't do anything so powered the Imac down holding the power button. switched back on screen is black, keyboard is not responding I can hear the CD in the drive, no chimes nothing. to this day I have had no problems no warnings with this system everything worked fine

This model had recalls on the GPU. Please give us the last four figures of your serial number and we'll check to see if yours is on the list. Hopefully Apple will still honor it.

Thanks Mayer, I'll let you know how I get on thank you again. Also as I can't do anything with it, is there anyway of getting at some of my files to backup. If not there's no worry.

Your data should be fine but if the machine won't boot you'll have to pull the drive and hook it up in an external enclosure or Universal Adapter. here's how to pull the drive: iMac Intel 27" EMC 2429 Hard Drive Replacement

Just got my Imac back this morning, it was the video card and they did replace for free thank you so much Mayer for your help
