vertical thin line & vertical black line 3cm on right side.

Hi,

Mac Book pro 15 with retina. It fell off the side of the bed! I now have a fine line running horizontally, and a black block (3Cms) on the right side.

Can any one help me with this please.

Opps Horizontal Black line.

Usually its the LCD try connecting to an external monitor to see if its on there or not if you can. It should need a new LCD - you can either replace the whole assembly or just the LCD but that can be a difficult process. There are guides on the LCD assembly on ifixit, and the LCD itself on youtube/other sites.

Jo, from your description and not seeing what you see, it most certainly sounds like a broken LCD. Here is the guide for the repair.
