Shut off after installing an app

So, I don't have a super lot information, but let's roll with it. So a customers iPad 2 shut off, and won't turn back on again, after installing an app. I told him tondo a force restart. Said he did that, didn't take. I told him to put it into dfu mode, and connect to iTunes. I realize I don't have all the facts. Just wondering if anybody knew of anything common, that I didn't think of, right off the bat

What app are they trying to install and did they Jailbreak it?

I highly doubt they jail broke it. I should have asked, which app. However I just told him to dfu mode it to recovery. So I could close my shop, also not much I could do with it, at the time
