Phone made very, very loud sound before it died.

My battery was running down much faster than usual and I had hardly any power left when it made this loud, loud sound almost like a bolt of lightning sounds...in my ear.... then it died. Now it won't hold a charge. I took out the battery and cleaned the contacts but it still won't hold a charge. What was that horrible sound? I literally couldn't hear in that ear for a good 5 minutes afterward.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Ann Ebert, with a loud sound like that there will have to be significant damage. My bet is on an IC. You will have to disassemble your phone and take a good look around. take plenty of picture and post those with your question. This videoshould get you to the logic board.

In thinking about it I wonder if that sound didn't indicate a spike or surge which in turn would mean logic or mother board problems. I don't want to disassemble the phone, way too much wee tiny stuff, so I think I'll look into a new phone. Thank you so much for you answer. I really appreciate it.
