Why my old mac (late 2006 ) still running so slow

hello everybody

i have a problem with my old mac book(late 2006) ,the first owner told me , he changed the memory card few years ago , but few months ago i hit it so my hard disc was broken so i also had to change it , then by the way wanted to optimise my old mac book deleting no useful application and emptying the Trash , deleting the log items , it doesn´t reopen the windows log back in , and other tricks for get fix it .

but still it remains very slow , what else can I do or change components for going more fast .

serial number : W8728BBBYA2 ram : 2 GB (the first owner changed the memory )

so another question is how can i download write zeros , and other issue should be what part of the computer i need change it .

I would reformat the drive using the "write zeros" option and reinstall the system from the original system installation disk. Just start clean. The reformat will map out any bad blocks that may have developed. If you give us the last three figures of your serial number I can tell you the exact system your machine shipped with and what it can be upgraded to. Also please tell us how much RAM you have and what kind it is to make sure it is the correct type.
