Can't find a replacement power supply

I've searched everywhere and can't find a replacement power supply for an Averatec all in one desktop computer. This is an older computer but one that I want to keep. Is there possibly a way to install a smaller sized (but more powerful) psu into the same space provided for the original psu? Can this be done? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

why don't you try to fix existing faulty power supply?

Do you repair them? I found a few places on the web that repairs them but they want $250 just to look at it. I feel that's extremely unreasonable.

Could you upload closed photo of power supply and the model number?

James, it will also help if you can tell us what exact model your Averatec is.

The power supply is SH270FX1 Sungho 239.4W Power Supply Module which fits into my Averatec D1002UHCE-1 All-In-One desktop computer. I'd like to have something a little more powerful but I'd be happy just to have this one replaced or repaired. Thanks.

James, there are only a few choice you got. You can find the SH270FX1 Sungho 239.4W at places like ebay etc. Cost `120+USD. The other thing you can do is to get your power supply fixed. (My bet is that it died due to bad caps) The only other option I see is that you consider rigging up an external PSU since your Averatec uses a standard ATX 20 Pin, 4 Pin 12 V connector. Then you could easily go to a >240W PSU.

Hey, I finally tried this but it still didn't work. Bestec 250Watt Standard ATX 20 pin and 4 Pin 12V but it came on briefly and then stopped. Every 4 or 5 seconds it would come on and shut off. Put the 250Watt power supply back in orginal computer and it still worked fine so any other suggestions?
