Why doesn't my xbox360 console recognize my kinects

Bought a new xbox360 with kinets last year, supposed to be a 2014 model we thought but manufacturer date shows 2012 , but anyway its been barely used by us and now the console won't recognize the kinects. What else could be wrong? Don't smell no burnt smell or see any caps or anything burnt inside of console. Any idea how much power comes out of the port for the kinects and which of the terminals do i test ? Thank you Ray
