I connected and external display and it works fine, I replaced the internal display with a new one and it is doing the same thing. Logic board?

If it works with an external display the logic board is probably good. The most likely cause would be the inverter board or the cable from the logic board to the LCD.

This is just a guess but the back light of the display could be a separate circuit then just the LCD it self. I ran into that once on an IBM.

Good Luck!
