broken zif connector help

the home button zif connector bezel decided to go pinging so now its lost - god only knows where, and a piece broke off. this is not the same as the other zif in that it has upward facing pins.. any hints tips for this - how difficult is it to replace the whole zif connection if need be. I don't want to buy a whole new logic board due to one tiny piece of plastic :(

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

The connector is replaceable if you have micro soldering skills. Its a very cut and dry process but not something you want to do on your first attempt.

You can always try sliding the cable in, then using some kapton tape to keep it in place. If it works, awesome! If not, hit up a local repair shop that does good work. It really is an easy fix but its also a fix that can be messed up easily.

Good luck!
