Changed Battery, still dies really fast

I have the problem, that after about 8-12 hours standby (!) the battery-light changes from blue to red for about 10 seconds, then blinks red for about 10 seconds and then the device shuts down.

This happend over night. Before the usual standby-time was about 3-4 days.

I changed the battery a few weeks ago, no difference. Also removing the battery for 5 minutes didn't help.

Do you have any idea, what could be broken?

Answer this question I have this problem too

See if you have the DS under warranty still. If so send it back. You might have a faulty battery, but you also might have some sort of short on the board that is draining the power. If you don't have the warranty you might want to try swapping that battery

Hope that helps

Checking the warranty is a very good idea. I not even thought about that, but I bought it exactly 2 years ago and sent it to Nintendo and hope for the best.

I don't think it's the battery, because then both, the original and the new one I tried, had to have the exact same fault.
