iPhone 5 screen won't display images

Hey there,

I have a replacement Iphone 5 screen purchased as "new".. However, when i change the screens over there are no display images.

The replacement screen has backlighting on, its not completely black. Could it potentially be a fault with the digitizer? Or is it a simple hardware fault, such as a cable?

Thanks in advance!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Did you unplug the battery before installing the new screen? You might need to reset the phone.

I did not, would this create an issue?

You could take the chance of blowing a fuse on the logic board, always best to disconnect any power going to the board before working on it. If you still have the device opened, unplug the battery. If you've already sealed the screen shut do a reset with the power & home button

I will make sure I do this in future, but I am still bemused as to why there is a backlight on with the screen yet its not showing any images on screen. Reset seems to make no difference

If the reset didn't fix it, it could be several things like a bad screen, do you have your original broken screen to plug in and see if it lights up.

If original screen does the same thing, then something could of gotten damaged on the logic board. You would need to look at the board under a microscope at the screen connectors and the resistors around it to see if anything got damaged. If you see no damage could be a backlight fuse issue like mentioned before.
