Charging keeps changing from 2% to 3% and then to 7%

The iphone 5s is with Sprint. It is having issues with charging, it cycles between 2%, 3% and 7%. It has been doing this for 2 days now. If the batteries dies and the phone turns off, it does not charge and stays on the battery with drained capacity icon. I have changed the battery but the problem persists. It may not be the charging port because when I unplug it, the drained battery icon changes to lighting and tip of the cable...

It sounds like it possibly could be a problem with the U2 chip. This is a chip on the board that when it fails won't charge the battery specifically when the battery gets really low.

The failure can be caused by using non-Apple chargers.

There are a few things you can try. To see if it's the u2 chip. However, if it is, you're probably going to want to send it to a quality repair shop. Like Jessa Jones

Rule out bad battery and back dock connector. Then rule out FL11 missing gas gauge filter on the board near battery connector. If none of that solves, it is U2 charging logic ic.

Dear Jessa,

Thank you for the prompt response! FL11 is present and I checked for the continuity at FL11 near the battery connector next to C279, it checks out (the multimeter beeps). Just to make sure that is what you have implied.
