Why can't I change my iTunes ID, not password, on my cell

I have a brand new 4S but can't change my ID on the smartphone although I have no problems accessing iTunes on my PC with the email address being the correct one. On the phone however, my old email keeps popping up and impeding my access to iTunes preventing me from getting apps I need. How the heck can I change that? Thanks...!

Israel,

Mira, after I wrote you before stating I had no apps I realized that I did and that app is gmail. So I deleted my Gmail address from the 4S but it still keeps popping up, especially in iTunes which is still giving me trouble. Did you get my previous comment?

Go to settings and then to iTunes and App Store option. If that has been changed the reason you might be seeing old email is because you have an app that was originally downloaded with the previous email and copied over from back up. You can try going to the App Store and checking which apps have no been updated and click on update individually. If it asks for the old email then delete that app and re download with new email.

If this doesn't make sense or have any other questions comment below and I'll help you out!

If you have no apps other than the ones installed by the phone I would create a back up in iTunes. When it asks if you want to back up apps say no. Right after that go to settings and App Store to make sure the correct Apple ID is being used. Let me know what you find out!
