Recently all of the photos and videos I have taken with my GoPro Hero4 Silver have appeared distorted. There are regions of discoloration and corrupted pixels. Any ideas what could be causing this?

If the lens seems to be undamaged then your image sensor may have issues. The best solution there is to replace it. The replacement guide can be found here.
