Sounds like the phone has had a screen replacement. There is a major issue with the iPhone 6 replacment screens being used in the repair industry right now, low grade cheap screens are coming off the frame, which is the cause for your proximity issue, too much light is coming through. The low buzzing, getting hot & battery draining issues could be related to a low grade screen, the front facing camera flex cable being damaged or whoever fixed it damaged something on the logic board. If you're not familiar with device repairs, you might want to take it to a local repair shop and have them examine the logic board for any damage and check out the other parts I mentioned as well. Be careful pushing down on the screen, push too hard and you'll crack it. The slight light you see is from the rear case being bent, another common thing seen with the 6.

oh wow thanks for your fast reply and very useful information so my best bet is to take into apple and have them replace the phone its out of warranty btw as the logic board seems to cost around $300 they can replace the phone for the same price

If the device has been worked on Apple will not replace it. voids any warranty & non warranty repairs/replacements from Apple

oh ok thank you for your honest help i appreciate it so i guess i either have to open it up myself and replace the front camera and sensor cable and see if that helps with the earpiece getting hot as well as the battery draining if that doesnt fix it then i will most likely have it sent to a local repair shop by any chance would you know any reliable shops down here in Miami,FL ?

or what do you recommend i do ? should i just try and fix the phone myself im confident as i have done a couple repairs on other devices before and go one by one till i find out whats wrong ? and also how would iknow if my logic board is messed up is there any type of program i can use to see the logic board status? again thank you for your help i appreciate it so much

I know Apple in Tampa rejects any device thats been touched by a non authorized Apple center with third party parts but you have nothing to lose to try Apple first like Jessabethany recommends.

If Apple does reject it, I would suggest taking it to a shop. They are going to have all the parts to properly diagnose the issue without you wasting too much time & money. Im not familiar with the Miami area but she has a good reputation so I would take her suggestions below.

In Miami, FL---I would hit up my summer intern Jason Gan at DormGeeks. Armando at Gounlock express is also a rock star for repair.

There is no rule that Apple will automatically reject a phone with third party parts installed for an out of warranty replacement for $299. I would probably give that a shot first.
