Whenever I turn on my camera, the zoom sometimes extends but the lens cover at the end of the zoom lens does not open all the way. The camera will remain on but half of the screen is dark where the lens cover is blocking the viewer.

The lens shutter is probably jammed. be sure to clear out any debris that may be obstructing its ability to open.
