No fan, No chime, No video...

Hi,

After going through your hard drive replacement guide I restarted my Ibook... Nothing happened. The only thing I can hear is the hard drive (not seeking or anything just sort of spinning softly (or not) and quietly humming.)...

On power up there is no chime and no video, not a flash on screen or anything there is absolutely nothing.

When turning it on while it's open the fan is not working either...

I tested the USB ports and my MP3 players do not see it or charge from it...

Is the logic board dead?

(P.S Keyboard caps lock, f5 etc light works)

Over time, the settings in the Power Manager may become unusable, which can result in operational anomalies with the computer. Examples include not turning on, not waking from sleep, not charging the battery, or not seeing the AC Adapter, among others. For most situations, a restart is sufficient. If the computer has stopped responding, try these steps, in order, until the computer responds:

Force Quit (Option-Command-Escape)

Restart (Control-Command-Power)

Force Shut Down (press the power button for 10 seconds)

Only perform a PMU reset on the computer if none of the above steps resolved the situation.

Reset the PMU, here's how to do it, make sure the caps lock is not down: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1431

Have you tested it on both battery power and plugged in? You probably had to disconnect both the battery and DC in board cables while replacing the HD. The majority of failures after a repair are due to cable connection issues or torn cables. I would carefully re-seat and inspect any cables you may have removed or possibly pulled on accidentally.

Yes, I have tested in on both wired and battery, same thing both times.

I will go through the manual backwards right now and think of any cables that might have been replaced wrong.
