How do I make some of the key work and monitor?

I spilled water on the keyboard last night and quickly removed as much as I could. Now the problem I am having are with some of the keys. the number eight and nine don't work, the F5 button brightens the monitor the rewind buttons does not. Another thing it is doing is when I try to dim the monitor it will brighten it. I've tried everything and nothing works. should I leave i alone for couple of days to see if it works? I also notices that the icon for when you dim the monitor or when you lower the volume, it won't go away unless I press the volume button. My macbook also does not want to sleep when i close the lid. What should I do?

What you should have done was remove power supply and the battery from the machine. Then completely remove the topcase, which is pretty easy on this machine. I would of rid of all moisture with a cloth once the topcase was removed and let it completely dry for 24 hours before trying the topcase. Try this, if it doesn't help you might need to replace the topcase. I would also open the lid and lay the computer on its topside to prevent any water from getting into the Logicboard.
