Black screen, backlight still works?

I have an iphone 3gs here that is displaying nothing, just a black screen. The backlight still works and it still syncs, vibrates when switched to mute and generally works perfectly except just displays nothing on the screen. Strange that the backlight works though. Cables 1,2 and 3 are all in fine but looks like maybe one of the pins on the number 2 digitizer connector is bent a little. Could this be the problem? It shouldn't effect the LCD display though should it? The connector number 1, which is the LCD display, is fine.

I was lucky and took one from another iphone i had lying around. If you google about bypassing this coil, you will see what coil it is to replace or you can bypass onto another (requires soldering though) Also you can find these coils in many old phones and electronic devices.

if the screen, digitizer or glass have not been changed to replacement one {been cracked before} I would take it back to applestore. it still is in warranty, so polish inside, get rid of finger prints and take it back. they should do it for you free of charge...

Na, the screen has never been replaced, but i have taken it apart a few times. Might just replace the screen. Seems a bit strange though as the phone is pretty much brand new.
