if it goes dead i charge it but it still wont turn on

is it recognised in itunes? if it is it may be your lcd is broken and you just can't see that it is on.

And if it's not recognized in iTunes then it could be a bad battery.
Update
There's also a chance you accidentally got it into DFU mode. In that case your LCD works fine.
