Hello,
since a few months I have the problem, that my MacBook A1181 Display is some kind of negative. there are some horizontal lines to see. and it is fading to white.
It is NOT the Negative Shortcut ....
i know there is a crack in my display, but it never mattered. it worked fine with the crack many years ....

Sadly the weakened state of your display has caused the electrical connections to break down. BTW - your LCD is also cracked here besides the cover glass. It's time to replace the display assembly. Sorry :-(
