signal searching, no services

iPhone 4s, although nano sim card is inserted, device shows no signal icon (no dots) and no provider name, saying 'no services'.

I tried to replace sim card with another one but I gave the same problem.

So I'm not able neither to call/receive calls nor to use 3G services.

This is never been opened.

What do you think?

Answer this question I have this problem too

I see on the upper left corner always "searching"

I have doubts because user says sometimes signal returns, it could be bad contact?

I opened iPhone and I plugged in antenna cable but nothing!

I noted if I remove and reinsert sim card in 'settings' menu appears 'carrier' entry and if I disable 'network manually choose' I can see network provider. If I choose one of them I see always 'searching'.

When I reboot iphone 'carrier' entry disappears again so I have to remove sim card and insert it again.

ideas?!

Could be a bad sim reader. The contacts in the reader are pretty delicate and can easily bend or break. If that is the problem, it would need a new sim reader soldered in by someone with experience in that kind of repair.

I verified sim card is visible because I see in menu ICCID number and there is no message about "sim not inserted". "Carrier" field has value as 'Carrier 20.0'

I cannot see menu "hotspot" and "carrier".

Do you think always the same thing?

your last comment may mean that the problem is the antenna cable not fixed well,

I read problem could be blue inductor coil but before I'd like to verify if there is problem on antenna cable as you suggested. How can I verify antenna cable works fine? I only can see if it's plugged.
