Can I upgrade A1226 with A1260 mother board?

I have a A 1226 2.2ghz santa rosa MBP with 128mb V-ram, and I'm curious to know if I could replace the mother board with an A1260 2.6ghz w/ 512mb V-ram? Are the motherboards interchangeable? I looks like it in your parts section. If I do a fresh install will it just work?

Options

According to the Bookyard the boards are not interchangeable. There might be subtile differences as mounting points or connectors. Apple is notorious for that.
